razorblue upgrades its cloud with strategic partnership

North-East headquartered Managed Service Provider, razorblue has announced that it is upgrading the storage platform that backs its private cloud solution with new, next-generation technology.

Through a new partnership with Hitachi Vantara, razorblue will be deploying its Virtual Storage Platform series NVMe-backed (non-volatile memory express) storage arrays in its cloud regions.

The new technology implemented provides blisteringly fast storage – at around 4-times faster than the SSD (Solid State Disk) storage currently deployed, and around 50-times faster than traditional spinning discs.

Hitachi Vantara is a world leader in delivering secure and resilient storage solutions that can scale effectively as demand for products and services increases. The strategic partnership aims to boost performance and scalability for razorblue’s private cloud customers.

Edward Owen, EMEA Cloud Manager at Hitachi Vantara said: “Hitachi Vantara is absolutely thrilled that razorblue has chosen its technology to deliver critical services to its customer base.  Working with strategic partners who take Hitachi Vantara technology and build world class offerings is the key to success in the ever-competitive hybrid cloud market. We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership supporting razorblue and our collective customers. “

The cloud upgrade is being made available to razorblue’s clients at no additional cost, reinforcing the company’s commitment to providing the best possible experience for its customers.

Dan Kitchen, CEO at razorblue said: “The upgrade project has been in planning since January this year and is now well underway, through a completely transparent live migration process. This is due to be completed by the end of August 2022. All changes as part of the process are designed, scripted, approved and supervised in accordance with our change management process.

“We hope our clients will benefit from the performance improvements, and new features that will be made available in due course.”

As part of its strategy to improving existing services, razorblue is also upgrading its datacentre networking stack to support higher throughput and enhanced features, such as transparent workload migration and disaster recovery failover between regions – with new Cisco and Juniper technology.

razorblue specialises in managed IT, security services, super-fast connectivity, cloud and hosting, and business software solutions across a broad range of industries.
