A North-East based IT company has become one of the first in the region to offer a suite of business products developed by Microsoft.

Razorblue, which has offices in North Yorkshire, Teesside, Leeds and London, believes its partnership with Microsoft will both benefit new and existing customers and also see its business grow.

“This is a very exciting time for us,” said Jonathan Anderson, Razorblue’s director of software services. “We’ve already made a considerable investment in training and product knowledge and are currently in the process of recruiting specialists to our team”.

Razorblue was started by its managing director Dan Kitchen 11 years ago when he was just 16-years-old. The company has grown year-on-year and now employs 50 staff and turns over in excess of £4m.

The new product launch means Razorblue will be able to offer businesses Microsoft’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, Microsoft Dynamics Nav.

“It completes the whole package of services we can deliver to customers,” said Mr Anderson. “We already provide a multitude of managed IT services, connectivity and private cloud solutions. Whilst we’ve always had strong bespoke development skills, now we have a scalable platform which we will use to fundamentally solve business problems”.

Microsoft Dynamics Nav enables businesses to automate and streamline their business processes, providing them with greater financial control over key aspects of their operation: from Human Resources to Sales Order Processing, and Warehouse Management.

Razorblue spent considerable time evaluating the marketplace to decide which ERP solution it should back for its customers.

“Microsoft has not sat on its laurels. It realised that it cannot just depend on the strength of its brand. It has to invest in the right places and make the right decisions.  They have listened to their partners and users to make sure they develop the right thing,” said Mr Anderson.

“At the same time financial directors of companies have moved away from an online paper-based accounting system. They’ve grown up with computers, smart phones and tablets and expect all their software packages to connect and integrate.  That’s what’s provided here.”

Razorblue’s headquarters is at the Colburn Business Park in Catterick.  It marked its 10th anniversary in 2016 with the opening of a new office at Wynyard Park on Teesside. Last year it also received the prestigious ISO 27001 certification in recognition of the safeguards it deploys to protect its customers’ data.

Razorblue’s managing director Dan Kitchen said: “The launch of our Microsoft Dynamics service family represents another important milestone for us. This is a fantastic new product we are now able to offer. As we have always done, we will work closely with customers to find the right solution best suited for their organisation.  We live and breathe IT, but – for many businesses – it is just one of many functions they require to operate efficiently and effectively.”
