International Women’s Day, to me, is about recognising and celebrating women’s equal right to exist freely; to learn, work, lead, dream and to choose our own paths. It’s also about recognising that while progress has been made, there is still more we can all do to create a truly equal world.
This year’s theme, Give to Gain, really resonates with me. It’s a reminder that when we give support, opportunities and encouragement to others, we all gain stronger teams, better ideas and a more inclusive culture. International Women’s Day is a reminder that equality isn’t a privilege – it’s a basic human right. And there’s still work to do, to make sure every woman can experience that.
What Makes the Women at razorblue Stand Out
Honestly, what makes the women at razorblue stand out is how real and supportive they are.
They’re brilliant at what they do, but they also bring so much empathy, humour and determination to the workplace. They back each other. They challenge things when they need to. They’re always looking for ways to make the environment better for everyone – not just for other women.
That mindset benefits the entire business. When people feel supported and encouraged to step forward, we all gain.
From my perspective in HR, seeing women across different roles, backgrounds and stages of life thrive here – and lift others as they do it – is one of the most rewarding parts of my role. Not only do the women contribute to the business through their skills and expertise, but they’re also helping to shape a culture that supports everyone.
Strength, Empathy and Creativity
The women at razorblue bring a mix of strength, empathy and creativity that really influences how we work together day to day.
Their perspectives help us challenge assumptions, improve how we support people and make better decisions as a business. But culture is always collective. It’s shaped by all of us, and it’s strengthened when different voices are heard and valued.
When we actively create space for those perspectives, we gain broader thinking, stronger collaboration and better outcomes.
Real Opportunities for Growth
We’ve seen a real pattern of internal promotions for women across different teams such as Project Management, Marketing, Account Management, Finance, Internal Platforms and Cloud & Infrastructure.
This shows that progression here is genuinely based on talent and potential. It’s not just talk; you can see it happening.
Investing in people is one of the clearest examples of Give to Gain. When we give opportunities and trust individuals to grow, we gain confident leaders, fresh ideas and long-term strength as a business.
As razorblue continues to expand, even more opportunities will open up for women to lead and make an impact. That momentum is something I’m genuinely excited about.
Supporting Our People Professionally and Personally
Our approach to inclusion and respect is built for everyone. We have a zero-tolerance approach to bullying, sexual harassment and any form of discrimination. This is reinforced through mandatory training for all staff, ensuring everyone understands the standards we expect throughout the business and the role we each play in upholding them. Our internal policies are designed to protect and empower every member of the team.
Culture isn’t just about policies – it’s about everyday behaviour. Leaders set the tone by modelling respect, listening and challenging any inappropriate behaviour. All colleagues have a responsibility to support one another, speak up when something isn’t right and help create a workplace where everyone feels safe, valued and included.
We also offer flexible and hybrid working to support all staff in balancing their professional and personal lives, recognising that people perform at their best when work fits around real life, not the other way around.
International Women’s Day is about recognising and celebrating women’s achievements. But meaningful progress comes from building inclusive environments that support everyone – because when people feel valued and supported, we all benefit.
Why Celebrating Women in Tech Matters
The tech industry continues to experience a clear gender imbalance, particularly in technical and senior roles. That imbalance isn’t just about numbers – it influences whose voices are heard, whose experiences shape products and services and who feels confident seeing a future for themselves in the industry.
Representation plays a critical role in addressing this. When women are visible, supported and recognised for their contributions, it helps challenge outdated perceptions about who belongs in tech. Visibility builds confidence, opens conversations and shows others that there is space to enter, progress and thrive.
Support and encouragement also matter beyond recruitment. When women are given opportunities to develop, lead and be seen, they are more likely to stay in the industry and help shape it. This creates a positive cycle – strengthening teams, broadening perspectives and contributing to better decision-making.
By giving women opportunity, visibility and encouragement, we don’t just support individuals – we help build a stronger, more innovative and more resilient tech industry. Diverse perspectives lead to better ideas, better solutions and better outcomes for everyone.
A Message to Women Considering Tech
If I could offer one piece of advice, it would simply be: go for it. Back yourself.
Tech needs your perspective, your voice and your ideas. At razorblue, you’ll find a place that genuinely supports your development, values your individuality and gives you the space to thrive.
International Women’s Day is about celebration, but it’s also about reflection and responsibility. For me, Give to Gain captures what progress looks like in practice. When we give support, opportunity and respect, we gain stronger teams, better ideas and a culture where everyone can succeed.
I’m proud to work in a business where women are not only contributing to success but actively shaping the culture and future of the organisation – alongside colleagues across the whole team.
