Stage One have their own in-house IT team, but their time was heavily taken up with business-specific application development, which meant that there was less resource available for ensuring that their infrastructure could cope with the rapid expansion of the company, and that they could manage their complex security requirements.
International communication was becoming expensive, and large files needed to be transferred between Stage One, its customers and suppliers.
The internet connection was relatively poor, which limited the company’s efficiency as so much of their day-to-day operations are carried out online.
Razorblue reviewed Stage One’s requirements and a tailored plan was put together to resolve the issues that Stage One had been experiencing and ensure that its network could cope with the huge growth and change that the company was, and still is, enjoying.
Email and other key services were migrated to razorblue's Cloud environment, resolving issues on mobile devices and bringing together the sharing, collaboration and backup functionality.
By implementing Microsoft Lync to replace their legacy telephone system, Stage One improved communication throughout the business and its remote workers. This allows for file sharing, video conferencing and phone calls all to take place from anywhere.
Higher speed connectivity, consisting of a 100mb leased line, was established to ensure that the business’ systems could operate without limitations, and to assist with the use of cloud services, whilst an HP SAN and VMware ESX cluster was installed to house Stage One's on-premises virtual servers.
Finally, Razorblue was engaged to provide their Proactive IT Support service – constantly monitoring Stage One’s entire network infrastructure, taking daily backups and testing them, and performing regular network health checks. Stage One enjoy a guaranteed response time of a maximum of four hours in the event of an issue.
